7:00am: I typically wake up around seven and complete my morning beauty routine and enjoy a light breakfast before heading to the fitness studio for my morning exercise.
8:00am: My favorite fitness classes are the yoga and Pilates classes. Since starting an exercise routine last year, I’ve noticed I’ve gained more strength and my arms are looking more toned and fit. Sometimes I also work with a personal trainer if I’m looking for a more intense workout or looking to tone certain areas.

9:00am: I love having my weekly facial done at the spa or getting my hair done at the beauty salon in the morning. The spa has so many spa treatments I enjoy, but my favorites are the cleansing facial, the Swedish massage, and the hot stone massage I schedule at least once a month.
10:00am: Today I’m going shopping with some of the girls from The Village at Thornwood, the new shopping center that just opened next door. We love being able to walk right next door to grab lunch or to find unique gifts for someone’s birthday or a special event at Bella Vita or Bob Richards Jewelers.
12:00pm: I usually eat lunch at the Cafe Bistro here because they have so many delicious lunch items. My go-to for lunch is the Monte Cristo or the Asian Salmon Salad.
1:00pm: In the afternoons I like to either take a walk around the walking trails or spend some time in the garden. We recently planned the most beautiful roses, and I love seeing the new blooms every other day.
3:00pm: Before dinner I’ll either visit the library to see what new releases are available, or I’ll grab coffee with a friend or visit a friend’s villa down the street. Right now some of us are doing a book club on one of my favorite thrillers.
5:30pm: My husband and I almost always eat dinner at the lounge or the Monarch Dining Room. My favorite menu item is the Trout Almondine with Vegetables Du jour and a wedge salad. When I feel like having a treat, I’ll finish my meal with Crème Brule.
7:30pm: After dinner we typically either enjoy drinks at at the Polo Lounge & Grill (the Coconut Cosmopolitan and the Chocolate Martini are my faves!), or we enjoy the evening entertainment offered or watch a movie in the cinema.

6:00am: I always wake up around 6 and have The Commercial Appeal delivered to our door every morning so I can read the paper and eat breakfast.
7:30am: In the mornings I’ll either walk or run the walking trails or I’ll swim a few laps in the indoor pool. I love having the fitness center and pool because I’m very passionate about staying in shape and being able to enjoy different types of exercise.

9:00am: On a typical day, I’ll run errands in the morning. I’ll usually stop by the bank and post office here at The Village if I need to mail something, and I’ll also schedule the housekeeping and laundry pickup at the front desk while I’m out. If my wife and I want to have a night out on the town during the weekend, I’ll stop by the concierge desk to schedule transportation and handle tickets for me.
12:00pm: I like to eat dinner with my wife, but I’ll usually have lunch with friends at the Pub. I usually have the Fish and Chips or the Pub Sliders.
2:00pm: In the afternoons I’ll either join a community event like the weekly poker games on Tuesdays or the men’s bridge group on Fridays. I also like to work in the woodshop. Right now I’m working on building a wooden car for my grandson whose birthday is coming up soon.
TOUR OF THE WOODWORKING STUDIO
5:30pm: For dinner my wife and I either cook in our kitchen in our apartment because we have a chef’s stove that she loves to cook on, or we’ll go to the dining room. I like the Grilled Pork Tenderloin and the Apple Waldorf Salad.
7:30pm: After dinner, we’ll either watch a movie in the movie theater here or we’ll go to a concert. They always have some sort of entertainment for us to enjoy here. If my wife and I aren’t having drinks in the lounge with friends, sometimes I’ll also go to the library and check out a book to read before heading to bed.
